Hi everyone,
I just want to bring you up to date on NEWS. For those of you who are not familiar with it, NEWS stands for New England Weavers Seminar.

NEWS is held every other year at Smith College in Northampton, MA. In 2017 it will be held from July 13 – 16.
As members of NOBO you will be getting an email (probably early next year) with a brochure of the classes being held, prices, and information on accommodations should you choose to attend all 4 days of the seminar.
There is also a Fashion Show and Gallery Show into which you can submit handwoven items. I have attached a sheet outlining the Entry Requirements, etc. If you are interested in submitting something, please let Vicki White know!
In addition, I’ve attached a news-schedule-of-classes – however, there are no class descriptions yet.
Registration for NEWS will be primarily online – though for 2017 they will accept mailed in registrations. Registration will open in February.NEWS_Gallery_Fashion_Shows.pdf

Last, but not least by any means, the guild always has a table in which we display items we have made. We like that table to have a theme. We plan on exhibiting the table cloth that most of us participated in. To complement it we are thinking it would be nice to weave table linens in a neutral color – just white or cream or ivory. You may use any texture you want, however.
Also, at some point there will be a call for volunteers. Every guild that participates in NEWS is asked to send volunteers to kind of watch over the items in exhibits.
