THIS weekend – Demo of weaving and/or spinning desired

I can’t believe the gall of this woman, posting this 2 days before the event. But hey, people are funny…

Anyone want to demo in Newbury?

Hi – I am the chairperson for the Ould Towne Heritage Fair in Newbury, MA, and it’s a fundraiser for Essex County Greenbelt. An historical parcel of land is in the process of being developed near the Parker River, and the “Save the Lower Green” community group has obtained a one year agreement to purchase a 4 acre portion of it, provided we can raise the money by Aug. 31, 2011. It is the area near the landing site of the First Settlers, and the land in question is part of the original land grant Rev Thomas Parker received in 1635. He named it Newberry Plantation and raised cattle, and farmed the land.

I am trying to show how our ancestors may have lived, and the techniques they used to prosper. Spinning, dying, and weaving are a few things I am looking to have demonstrated. Can you ask your guild members if they are available on June 11 or 12 (this weekend!) to help this important fundraiser? Below my name is my webpage link listing most of the exhibitors that will be in attendance. Anyone interested can sell their items and have a space. I will have some goats on site on the 12th. Also trying to find someone to bring a sheep, I am making paddocks on the green in the shade for little baa-baas if someone can bring one.
