{"id":3545,"date":"2016-09-26T15:47:48","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T19:47:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nobo.kk1x.net\/?p=3545"},"modified":"2016-09-26T15:47:48","modified_gmt":"2016-09-26T19:47:48","slug":"bow-weaving-additional-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nobohandweavers.com\/blog\/2016\/09\/26\/bow-weaving-additional-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Bow Weaving &#8211; Additional Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>A bunch of people signed up for the Bow Weaving workshop, that Vicki and I will be conducting, at the next regularly schedule NOBO meeting &#8211; <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_798520776\"><span class=\"aQJ\">October 27<\/span><\/span>. <strong>We will be making a bracelet.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>We will be providing the <strong>bow looms<\/strong>, a <strong>needle for weaving<\/strong>, a <strong>spacer<\/strong> to keep the warp threads separated, and <strong>findings for the clasp<\/strong>. <em><strong>The materials fee will be $5.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>What we ask all of you to do is to prepare the warp ahead of the workshop.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Materials list:<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>3\/2 or 5\/2 Pearl cotton.\u00a0 If you do not own any and want to avoid having to buy a full cone, you can use DMC pearl cotton No. 3 (which is equivalent to the 3\/2s, you&#8217;ll need two skeins) or No. 5 (which is equivalent to the 5\/2s, 1 skein should be sufficient).<\/li>\n<li>#6 glass beads<\/li>\n<li>Both the DMC and the beads can be found at AC Moore, JoAnns, or Michaels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><b>What you need to do:<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut 5 4 feet long strands for the warp<\/li>\n<li>Tie them together with an overhand knot, about an inch form the end.<\/li>\n<li>String 100 beads on each of two of the warp ends.<\/li>\n<li>Then tie a slip knot at the open end of the warp &#8211; you don&#8217;t want 200 beads hitting the floor!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The best way to string the beads is to use a dental floss threader,\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gumbrand.com\/between-teeth-cleaning\/floss-threaders\/gum-eez-thru-floss-threaders-840a.html\">such as this. <\/a><em>You can get them at CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid, etc.<\/em>Just so you know what to look for, if you opt to buy DMC pearl cotton use these links for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joann.com\/dmc-pearl-cotton-skeins-size-3--16-yds-\/prd2581.html\">Size 3<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joann.com\/dmc-pearl-cotton-skeins-size-5--27-yds-\/prd2582.html\">Size 5<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><b>IMPORTANT<\/b>: \u00a0We need to know if you are interested so that we can have a loom for you.
